About the position

The Network Engineer II position involves designing, building, and maintaining network systems to support business operations. The role requires managing LAN/WAN/WLAN environments, ensuring network stability, and providing technical consulting services to clients. Successful candidates will work in a team environment, communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel, and handle high-stress situations.

Responsibilities

  • Provide multi-technology consulting services to clients to analyze and provide strategies and solutions on all aspects of network systems.
  • Diagnose and correct technical problems with LAN, WAN, and WLAN network components.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot networking systems including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless systems.
  • Install, configure, and test updates and upgrades to network hardware and firmware.
  • Document all work actions as required by clients in accordance with standard policies and procedures.
  • Work with client and third-party technical teams to maintain and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Perform basic systems testing and operational tasks for a variety of network systems.
  • Support multiple technical systems in a 24 x 7 operational environment with high uptime requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field, or equivalent corporate or military training.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience in installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and error correction on various network technologies.
  • Cisco CCNP certification required.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of TCP/IP protocols and implementation.
  • Working knowledge of general client and server operating systems and back-office applications.
  • Strong communication skills in English, able to communicate clearly with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner on multiple tasks or projects with excellent organizational skills.
  • High level of professionalism in assisting clients with technical questions.
  • Ability to produce and maintain documentation of information security systems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Aruba switches and controllers.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Outlook.
