About the position

As the Network Engineer, you will play a critical role in enforcing network standards to ensure consistency and reliability across the network. Your primary responsibility will be to analyze and resolve complex network-related issues to maintain seamless operations. This includes conducting thorough analysis and testing of all elements within the network infrastructure and implementing secure nationwide networks, establishing standards that align with business objectives. This position is ideal for someone with strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of network design and security, and a passion for maintaining robust and secure network systems. In this role, you will implement secure network solutions that maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the company. You will coordinate with multiple vendors and departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services. Investigating and resolving problems, inefficiencies, and performance issues will be a key part of your daily tasks. You will also evaluate, test, recommend, and implement specific network solutions, and participate in developing advanced or leading-edge technologies and concepts. Additionally, you will analyze and provide innovative solutions to network engineering and design projects, contributing to the development of solutions and strategies for onboarding and converting acquired companies into FBM's standard network technology stack.

Responsibilities

  • Implement secure network solutions that maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the company.
  • Coordinate with multiple vendors/departments to procure network-related hardware, software, and services.
  • Investigate and resolve problems, inefficiencies, and performance issues.
  • Evaluate, test, recommend, and implement specific network solutions.
  • Participate in developing advanced/leading-edge technologies and/or concepts.
  • Analyze and provide innovative solutions to network engineering and design projects.
  • Contribute to developing solutions/strategy for onboarding and converting acquired companies into FBM's standard network technology stack.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • 3+ years of relevant experience in Network Engineering role.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with TCP/IP and common routing protocols such as OSPF, HSRP and QoS.
  • Experience with common LAN, WAN, WLAN and SD-WAN architectures and methodologies.
  • Experience with network security including firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention, LAN segmentation and network access controls.
  • Experience with public cloud hosting network features, strong preference given towards Microsoft's Azure platform.
  • Experience with Cisco, Palo Alto Firewalls, Palo Alto Panorama, Palo Alto Prisma Access, Meraki, and VeloCloud SDWAN is a strong plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
