About the position

Our client, a leader in technology-based systems for defense, is seeking a Network Engineer out of Fort Worth, TX. This position will play a critical role in designing and maintaining the IT infrastructure of the organization while working with Cisco, F5, Palo Alto/Juniper on-prem equipment, and cloud-based service offerings. The Network Engineer will ensure that all systems are working at optimal levels and will support network and operations departments with regard to new technologies and system requirements. This is a 6-month contract-to-hire position paying $65-70/hr depending on experience. The position is on-site with 4 days on site and 1 day remote.

Responsibilities

  • Design, Architect & Maintain state-of-the-art technical solutions on-premise and in the cloud to address requirements for scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
  • Automate installations and implementation for provisioning and operating infrastructure in a reliable and repeatable method.
  • Conduct daily, weekly, monthly system maintenance as required.
  • Implement operating system enhancements that will improve reliability.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation and be an escalation contact for incidents.
  • Monitor the performance of the overall network and/or collaboration systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or 5+ years of hands-on experience.
  • Very strong knowledge of Cisco.
  • Experience with Azure NSGs, Routing Tables, Apps Gateways, and Traffic Managers.
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages.
  • General knowledge of virtualization and Cloud Computing.
  • Best practice implementation of WAN, Disaster Recovery, and multi-site architecture.

Nice-to-haves

  • Extensive experience with Disaster Recovery, including the development of and implementation of the architecture to support.
  • Experience in troubleshooting Enterprise Network Applications.
  • Experience with architecture and implementation of enterprise BCDR solutions, including physical and virtual environments as well as client systems.
  • Experience in capacity planning and management.
