JSL Technologies, Inc. (JSL) is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a certified Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB) and Veteran-Owned government contractor, JSL provides engineering, logistics, and program support services to the Department of Defense (DoD). The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in delivering technical support for IT hardware and software design, engineering change development, system integration, configuration management, and technical documentation specifically for shipboard information systems, databases, and web-based applications utilizing both Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) and Government Off the Shelf (GOTS) hardware and software. In this position, the Network Engineer will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and configuration of various COTS and GOTS products, including Microsoft Server, Red Hat Linux, VMware, Cisco, Alcatel, and McAfee Endpoint Security Solutions on Total Ship Computing Environment (TSCE) hardware and software aboard Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) hulls. The role requires performing software and hardware installations, troubleshooting, testing, and executing Configuration Management actions to support IT System certifications, ensuring compliance with all Information Assurance (IA) requirements. The successful candidate will provide on-board technical assistance for the Total Shipboard Computing Environment (TSCE) on LCS hulls and will frequently interface, collaborate, and communicate directly with Navy Active Duty personnel. Daily Situational Reports on all supported efforts will need to be generated and submitted to designated Government teams and leads. This position is integral to maintaining the operational integrity of shipboard systems and ensuring that all technical support efforts are effectively communicated and documented.
