About the position

Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced Network Engineer in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Englewood, CO. The Network Engineer will play a crucial role in troubleshooting and resolving escalated Access and CPE device field issues. This position requires a thorough assessment of existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps, ensuring that the network infrastructure is optimized for efficiency and security. The Network Engineer will establish security, connectivity, and access parameters, providing recommendations to enhance the overall network performance. Additionally, the role involves testing and tuning security devices and systems, programming routers and switches, and implementing various communications technologies, whether data or voice. The Network Engineer will manage network services from the planning phase through to implementation, ensuring that all aspects of the network are functioning optimally and securely.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoots and resolves escalated Access and CPE device field issues
• Performs assessments on existing technologies to determine performance and capacity gaps
• Establishes security, connectivity, and access parameters
• Provides recommendations to optimize network infrastructure
• Tests and tunes security devices and systems
• Programs routers and switches
• Implements communications technologies (data or voice)
• Manages network services from planning phase through implementation

Requirements

• 10 years of experience
• CPE and ONU background in troubleshooting is highly desirable
• Ability to write technical documentation
• Ability to write and follow detailed technical test plans
• Solid knowledge of routing protocols, network hardware and software, security technologies, and network infrastructure
• Advanced knowledge of the DOCSIS and EPON standards
• Working knowledge of CMTS platforms including Casa C100G, Arris E6000, Cisco cBR8
• Experience with RPHY, Harmonic vCMTS and RPDs, Vecima RPDs
• Working knowledge of EPON platforms including ADTRAN 95XX and SDX-6210, Vecima (Nokia) 7360 and Distributed Access Architecture SF-4x, SC-2D3
• Working knowledge of switch platforms including Cisco NCS/ASR, Juniper PTX/QFX/ACX
• Working knowledge of routing protocols including OSPF, ISIS, BGP, v4/v6 Multicast
