About the position

The Network Engineer at Heritage Environmental is responsible for providing comprehensive network support across the computing environment, which includes hardware procurement, deployment, and tier 3 system support. This role involves project management for deployment and rehabilitation projects, as well as monitoring and management responsibilities. The Network Engineer is part of the IT shared services team that supports a portfolio of privately held companies, ensuring network resiliency and performance while adhering to health and safety policies.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health & Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Provides support for existing Cisco infrastructure deployments.
  • Leads the design of the overall network layout, group wide.
  • Monitors IOS versions and schedules updates as required.
  • Designs, tests, and deploys Cisco configuration templates as required.
  • Follows and updates process documentation as needed.
  • Follows industry best standards to continuously improve network resiliency and performance.
  • Documents configuration and monitors various aspects of Cisco infrastructure.
  • Supports ServiceDesk in resolving escalated tickets requiring specific technical knowledge.
  • Provides tier 3 network troubleshooting and support, including on-call rotation, after-hours support.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in information technology or equivalent experience.
  • 5 years of CLI configuration experience with Cisco switches, routers, and ASA's required.
  • Required Cisco Certifications: CCNA Security, CCNA Routing and Switching.
  • 5 years' Experience in WAN technologies and routing protocols including MPLS, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, DMVPN.
  • 5 years' Experience configuring Cisco ASA's for IPSEC tunnels, Cisco FirePOWER, Client VPN.
  • Experience with Cisco ISE and SolarWinds platforms.
  • Knowledge of ITIL based service delivery for Incident Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Capacity Management, and Configuration Management.
