The One 23 Group, a Virginia-based Government Contractor, seeks a Network Engineer local to the St. Louis, MO area. The Network Engineer will be responsible for analyzing users' requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications. This role involves providing application performance data and analysis to ensure the end user experience on operational networks, including the Intelligence Community Net, JWICS, SECNET, SBU, and the Intelligence Community (IC) Desktop Environment (DTE). The engineer will support performance tuning of the Intelligence Community/NSG network and application parameters for all Intelligence Community sites and applicable program activities in accordance with mission and user objectives and priorities. Additionally, the Network Engineer will provide technical reports defining metrics and operational procedures for addressing multiple network, server, and application outages, and will conduct performance tuning standards and outcomes as provided by the Government M&A Team Lead. The role also includes coordinating with the Intelligence Community, IC, and DoD team members to ensure that network performance meets user requirements and is prepared to accept new and modified system capabilities, data, and services. The engineer will maintain awareness of industry standards and best practices for operating and maintaining performance, capacity, and availability data collection tools and services for the Intelligence Community's large IT network enterprise, including cloud-resident data, applications, and services.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze users' requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop network requirements specifications.
  • Provide application performance data and analysis to ensure the end user experience on operational networks.
  • Support performance tuning of the Intelligence Community/NSG network and application parameters for all Intelligence Community sites.
  • Provide network performance engineering data in accordance with coordinated performance tuning standards and outcomes.
  • Provide technical reports defining metrics and operational procedures for addressing network, server, and application outages.
  • Provide data and analysis for support of Tier 3 Operations and Maintenance activities for monitoring end user experience and troubleshooting application performance issues.
  • Coordinate with the Intelligence Community, IC, and DoD team members to ensure network performance meets user requirements.
  • Perform analysis, optimization, and requirement verification to enhance network and application performance across the IT infrastructure.
  • Maintain awareness of industry standards and best practices for performance, capacity, and availability data collection tools.
  • Analyze network requirements and capacity and coordinate with various teams to ensure acceptable user experience.
  • Generate and deliver recurring reports for TAEF for various activities and meetings.

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of related field or work experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in the use of Wireshark, Netscout, Riverbed, or tcpdump for network packet data analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex scheduling for performance tuning with internal and external teams.
  • Demonstrated experience utilizing Government-provided IT tools to generate OSI layers metrics/analysis and provide reports.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership for the integration of network requirements, design, and technology.
  • Demonstrated experience to support the transition and migration of networks and development of network addressing schemes.
  • Demonstrate knowledge in network hardware including routers, switches, hubs, gateways, and firewalls.
  • Requires active or ability to achieve DoD 8570 compliance or information assurance certification within six months.
