About the position

Micron Technology is seeking a Network Engineer to join their dynamic team. The role involves collaborating with top professionals to drive innovation and deliver outstanding network solutions that meet business requirements. The Network Engineer will be responsible for planning, designing, and analyzing network infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration of new solutions, and optimizing performance across the enterprise.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, design, and analyze costs of network infrastructure for mergers, acquisitions, and site construction or expansion.
  • Determine the needs of the site including bandwidth and network requirements.
  • Research new equipment based on business requirements and hardware lifecycle.
  • Minimize the cost of new equipment within budget constraints.
  • Analyze and determine the cost of implementing new technology or services.
  • Participate in IT projects and coordinate needed equipment.
  • Interact with vendors and service providers for integration of services and systems.
  • Integrate new solutions into existing network solutions enterprise-wide.
  • Optimize the performance of new and existing equipment.
  • Collaborate with global network teams to integrate Micron standards into network builds.
  • Identify innovative ways to improve user experience.
  • Fix network performance issues and assist global operational network teams.
  • Coordinate with vendors regarding updates to equipment and lifecycle management.
  • Help manage and operate monitoring systems that meet site needs.
  • Document processes, procedures, and network solutions.
  • Provide formal corporate communications on changes impacting existing services.
  • Educate business units on technology feasibility and limitations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding network communications.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2 years' experience in WAN technologies, EIGRP, BGP, DMVPN, Wireless LAN Networks, Site surveys, VOIP over wireless, Troubleshooting, Data Center technologies, VXLAN, Cisco Fabricpath, and client connectivity.
  • Superb communication skills and effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to install networking equipment and work within data centers and networking closets.

Nice-to-haves

  • 3-5 years' experience in Wireless LAN Networks, Cisco Systems, Arista Networks, Network monitoring and management applications, IP address management, routing management, subnet assignment, VLAN management, DNS management, and network access control technologies.
