The Network Engineer position at OnePoint Patient Care is a critical role within the Information Technology department, focusing on the design, implementation, documentation, and management of the corporate LAN and WAN network infrastructures. This includes working with various technologies such as cabling, routers, switches, hubs, telecommunication devices, firewall appliances, wireless technologies, and VOIP systems. The Network Engineer will collaborate closely with the Manager of Enterprise Architecture, other associates, and vendors to ensure that all network infrastructures adhere to documented standards and industry best practices. In this role, the Network Engineer will be accountable for advanced problem determination and resolution of networking and connectivity issues. This involves utilizing various tools and advanced analysis techniques to efficiently analyze root cause problems and take appropriate corrective actions. The position also requires working with business units and other IT departments to research, recommend, and test cost-effective, efficient, reliable, and scalable network products and services that meet the stated IT and business departmental needs. The Network Engineer will assume primary responsibility for evaluating, designing, implementing, and maintaining systems that monitor critical network devices and connectivity. This includes developing detailed reporting metrics of network outages, utilization, and performance in accordance with defined departmental procedures and policies. Additionally, the role involves designing, implementing, maintaining, monitoring, and reviewing security standards for network devices and connectivity, ensuring compliance with industry best practices and HIPAA regulations. As the lead network infrastructure resource, the Network Engineer will work with other IT and business departments to plan, test, and implement disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives. The position also requires managing work orders through the company trouble ticketing system to meet or exceed service level agreements (SLAs). Other tasks may be assigned as needed, making this a dynamic and multifaceted role within the organization.
