About the position
The Network Engineer position at VAE, Inc. is a full-time remote role focused on providing IT infrastructure solutions. The engineer will be responsible for managing and supporting network environments, ensuring the reliability and security of client systems, and responding to network incidents. This role requires extensive experience with Cisco technologies and networking protocols, as well as the ability to work in multi-vendor environments.
Responsibilities
- Manage and support Cisco routers and switches in a medium to large enterprise environment.
- Configure and support routing protocols such as BGP, EIGRP, and OSPF.
- Monitor network performance and respond to incidents and escalations.
- Work in multi-vendor network environments to ensure seamless integration and operation.
- Provide on-call support for emergency network incidents.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience with Cisco routers and switches.
- 5+ years of experience in networking environments for medium to large enterprises.
- 5+ years of experience with routing protocols configuration and support.
- Experience in multi-vendor network environments.
- Experience with network monitoring and logging systems.
- Ability to respond to on-call and emergency incidents.
Nice-to-haves
- JSP experience is a plus.
