About the position

The Network Engineer at Bealls is responsible for ensuring the stability and integrity of the organization's data, voice, and wireless network services. This role involves planning, designing, and developing LANs, WANs, and WLANs, as well as participating in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of network hardware and software. The Network Engineer will also troubleshoot network issues, provide end-user training, and assist in the overall operation of network systems within the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the stability and integrity of in-house data, voice, and wireless network services.
  • Plan, design, and develop LANs, WANs, and WLANs across the organization.
  • Participate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all network hardware and software.
  • Analyze and resolve network hardware and software problems in a timely manner.
  • Provide end-user training as required.
  • Assist in the design, development, configuration, and maintenance of corporate and store network and telephony systems.
  • Support, set up, and document network work assignments.
  • Monitor equipment function and health to ensure optimal performance.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and perform work during non-business hours as needed.
  • Log and report work appropriately.

Requirements

  • Cisco CCNA certification required; Cisco CCNP or beyond strongly preferred.
  • Extensive experience with enterprise networking technologies, tools, and processes.
  • Proficient with network operating systems such as IOS, IOS-XE, JunOS, NXOS, and Linux.
  • Understanding of network traffic analysis for troubleshooting.
  • In-depth use of TACACS/RADIUS and familiarity with SolarWinds Orion and Cisco Prime preferred.
  • Solid experience with firewall configuration and administration, particularly Cisco ASA and Palo Alto.
  • Experience with Cisco WLC and understanding of WLAN fundamentals.
  • Ability to evaluate multiple vendor data products and document test plans.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with F5 LTM configuration and management.
  • DMVPN experience preferred.
  • Exposure to programming/scripting languages or tools used to automate networks, such as Python.
  • Cisco UCSX experience a plus.
  • SD-WAN experience a plus.
  • Experience with Cisco Unified Collaboration strongly preferred.
