The Network Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS) and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) solutions, as well as managing Velocloud SD-WAN, firewalls, switches, routers, wireless networks, Microsoft servers, and VMware environments. This position requires a deep understanding of networking principles and the ability to troubleshoot both common and complex technical issues. The Network Engineer will engage in detailed analysis, gather business requirements, and make informed recommendations while participating in the design and implementation of network and VoIP solutions. This role is pivotal in ensuring that customer technical needs are met while delivering exemplary customer service. In addition to technical responsibilities, the Network Engineer will lead projects, manage resources, and schedule work for individual projects. The role emphasizes a customer-centric approach, focusing on high renewal rates and managing both internal and external client expectations. The Network Engineer will perform follow-ups with customers to verify resolutions and assess satisfaction levels, ensuring that service level agreements (SLAs) are met. They will also maintain awareness of outstanding customer issues and provide necessary status updates to clients. The Network Engineer will drive problem investigations and resolutions, acting as a frontline technical resource for best practice solutions. They will provide guidance and leadership to junior network analysts, network professionals, and systems administrators. Additionally, the Network Engineer will assist with Managed Services Operations Center requests and trouble tickets as needed, supporting customer networks across various technologies and vendors, including Velocloud SD-WAN, Meraki, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet, Microsoft, VMware, and more.
