About the position

The Network Engineering Manager will provide leadership and direction for network infrastructure services within a financial organization. This role requires a blend of technical expertise and management skills to develop a high-performing team that delivers reliable network services in a dynamic IT environment, particularly in a Cisco-centric setting. The manager will oversee network operations, ensure quality service delivery, and engage in decision-making processes that align with business objectives.

Responsibilities

• Act as a working manager to ensure network systems are operating sufficiently to deliver quality services.
• Review problem tickets and reports to identify risks to network systems availability and enhance monitoring processes.
• Manage staff and activities involved in providing network services, prioritizing workloads and providing guidance to subordinates.
• Assess training needs and ensure successful job performance through specific training objectives.
• Develop standards and procedures for quality assurance and review change control processes.
• Supervise outsourced network projects and provide input on business-to-business project architecture.
• Develop documentation of network controls and assist in creating policies and procedures for best practices.
• Analyze new technologies and recommend network devices and tools for future enhancements.
• Assist in client and compliance questionnaires and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or seven years of network systems experience.
• At least seven years of documented networking experience in a Cisco networking environment.
• Extensive working knowledge of a wide range of networking environments and the OSI model.
• Ability to relate business requirements and risks to technology implementation for communications-related issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Solid project management skills and team-oriented interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Nice-to-haves

• Working knowledge of Cisco network technologies.
