About the position

The Network Field Operations Engineer at Verizon plays a critical role in maintaining and optimizing the network infrastructure. This position involves troubleshooting network issues, performing maintenance, and ensuring high system availability to enhance customer experiences. The engineer will work in a 24x7 operations environment, addressing network outages and service issues while collaborating with various teams to implement improvements.

Responsibilities

• Perform optimization, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network systems and applications to ensure overall system availability and performance.
• Evaluate network coverage to identify gaps and make recommendations for improvements.
• Perform triage, fault isolation, and remediation of network events.
• Generate, drive, and update problem-tracking tickets via multiple systems to improve business practices.
• Escalate issues to appropriate internal/external engineering teams for resolution.

Requirements

• Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of relevant work experience.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays.

Nice-to-haves

• A technical degree in Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or a related discipline.
• Knowledge of telecommunications equipment and technologies like Telephony Switching, Data Communications, and Network Routers.
• Computer support experience, including troubleshooting PC hardware and configurations.
• Vendor management experience.
