As a Network Implementation Engineer at Google, you will play a crucial role in executing the deployment, maintenance, and operations of private data networks on a global scale. This position requires a deep understanding of networking protocols and hands-on experience with complex networking equipment. You will collaborate with various teams, including Technical Program Managers, Network Engineers, Design and Infrastructure Engineers, and Field Engineers, as well as external construction and telecommunications vendors and contractors. Your primary goal will be to facilitate faster and more efficient outcomes for both the business and our customers, ensuring that Google's cutting-edge technology performs at its peak potential. In this role, you will manage the installation of networking equipment, including the rack and stack processes, while also owning the network documentation. This includes updating and maintaining network drawings and plans to ensure accuracy and reliability. You will be responsible for testing routers, optical transport equipment, and other network devices across Google's extensive global network, ensuring that all components function optimally. Additionally, you will generate implementation plans and provide technical leadership and guidance during deployment activities. Working closely with project management and the engineering team, you will identify potential problems in network installations, particularly in areas such as facility power (AC/DC), cooling, security/access, rack layout, and cable management. Your ability to identify new initiatives, programs, and processes will be essential in creating efficiencies, optimizing resources, and addressing any gaps or risks that may arise during cross-functional projects.
