The Lead Network Implementation Program Manager at Lumen plays a crucial role in the planning, scheduling, coordinating, and managing of a diverse range of projects. This position oversees the engineering and construction processes from initial conceptualization through to completion, ensuring that all aspects of the projects align with Lumen's fiber build objectives. The manager will supervise engineers, construction supervisors, contractors, and various trade workers, ensuring that quality and completion standards are met while resolving any issues that arise in a timely manner. The role requires accurate reporting on project progress and updating relevant databases as necessary. Additionally, the manager will provide leadership during team calls and meetings, guiding the team on objectives, goals, metrics, and various business needs, while also serving as the first point of escalation for market-related issues. In this role, the manager will be responsible for end-to-end project management for various projects that involve the relocation, maintenance, repair, and construction of Outside Plant (OSP) facilities. This includes overseeing the construction process from site survey to completion, ensuring that projects meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements. Building relationships with engineering, construction, and splicing vendors is essential to ensure the quality of work performed. The manager will also report on project progress to key stakeholders and update applicable systems accordingly. The position requires multi-discipline expertise and the ability to handle complex work using external vendors, including network expansion, relocations, and building additions. The Lead Network Implementation Program Manager must design and engineer the network buildout according to Lumen's objectives, standards, and specifications. This involves applying in-depth knowledge of networking protocols and excellent communication skills to troubleshoot issues effectively. The manager will perform site surveys, feasibility studies, cost estimates, and risk assessments for network projects, supporting the OSP fiber network by performing on-call duties, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repairs. Compliance with all applicable codes, regulations, policies, and procedures for network projects is a critical aspect of this role, as is the coordination and communication with internal and external parties, including customers, vendors, contractors, regulators, and utility companies.
