About the position

As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will be responsible for conducting site surveys and creating structured designs for the customer's network, which encompasses voice, data, security, and audio-visual systems. Your role will involve designing engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents. You will collaborate closely with IT and facilities team members, project teams, clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, material suppliers, and other technical resources to analyze business and technical requirements. This collaboration will help you develop system designs, estimates, implementation plans, management reports, and customer reports, while also coordinating the structured cabling design with other design disciplines. You will implement final network solutions to support both on-premises and cloud environments, manage the production of network devices, and design network architecture, ensuring that all supporting documentation required for implementation in this global network is developed.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys to assess network requirements and create structured designs.
  • Design engineered drawings, specifications, reports, and other technical documents.
  • Collaborate with IT and facilities teams, project teams, clients, and other stakeholders to analyze requirements and develop system designs.
  • Coordinate structured cabling design with other design disciplines.
  • Implement final network solutions for on-prem and cloud environments.
  • Manage production of network devices and network architecture design.
  • Develop supporting documentation for implementation in a global network.

Requirements

  • Experience providing implementation and engineering support for DoD enterprise networks.
  • Experience with commercial hardware, networks, and cloud environments.
  • Experience developing and executing test and implementation plans based on requirements.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Possession of a Secret clearance.
  • High School diploma or GED.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with networking technologies and core Internet protocols, wireless, and distributed networks.
  • Experience with multiple vendor networking solutions, including Cisco, HP, Aruba, Palo Alto, Arista, or Juniper.
  • Experience with cloud technologies and services, including AWS and Azure.
  • Knowledge of structured cabling and installation standards.
  • Excellent prioritization, multitasking, and detail-oriented skills.
  • Ability to obtain DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Baseline Certification within 6 months of start date.
