About the position

The Network Infrastructure Specialist IV is a senior-level professional responsible for developing network architecture and design. This role involves establishing network standards, platforms, protocols, and devices, as well as designing complex networks and communication systems. The specialist coordinates the planning and installation of these systems, conducts network performance tuning, and ensures statewide connectivity integration with external service providers. Additionally, the position includes providing technical support and mentoring less experienced staff.

Responsibilities

  • Develop network architecture and design.
  • Establish network standards, platforms, protocols, and devices.
  • Design complex networks and communications systems.
  • Coordinate and oversee the planning and installation of complex networks and communication systems.
  • Conduct high-level network performance tuning.
  • Establish statewide integration and continuity of connectivity.
  • Coordinate integration with external service providers.
  • Research developments in network and communication technology and propose business changes.
  • Develop migration and implementation plans.
  • Provide complex technical support in the relevant field.
  • Serve as project lead or provide supervision and technical direction to lower-level team members.
  • Mentor less experienced staff.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Networking or related field.
  • 5-10+ years of IT experience with emphasis in network operations and administration.
