About the position

The Network Operations Analyst / Help Desk position is a critical role within the organization, primarily focused on maintaining and supporting network systems and applications. This position is hybrid, requiring 75% of the time to be spent in the office located in Fairfield, CA. The role is set to last from August 14, 2024, to August 13, 2026, and is open only to local candidates. The work schedule is unique, operating from Wednesday to Saturday, with hours from 10 AM to 8:30 PM. As a Network Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for incident and event management, assisting with repair or restoration procedures to network systems and applications that receive event notifications. This includes managing ticket systems, escalations, and tracking incidents effectively. The role requires intermediate knowledge of network protocols, software applications, and operating support systems, along with a minimum of two years of experience in telecommunications, internet, or network operation center environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, both written and verbal, and be adept at multitasking. Proficiency in Windows 10, Microsoft Office Suite, and web browser applications is essential. Experience with web-based and thick client monitoring tools is also required. The position demands flexibility in working hours, as it operates in a 24/7 environment, and may involve local travel for training and meetings while working remotely.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with repair or restoration procedures to network systems and applications that receive event notifications.
  • Manage incident command, ticket management, escalations, and tracking.
  • Monitor network devices and software operating systems using ticket management systems/applications.
  • Utilize analytical methods and approaches to meet analysis requirements efficiently.
  • Support varied shift schedules in a 7 X 24-hour operations center environment.

Requirements

  • Intermediate knowledge of network protocols, software applications, and operating support systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in telecommunication, internet, or network operation center environments.
  • Experience working in ticket management systems/applications (e.g., SMC Remedy).
  • Ability to monitor network devices and software operating systems effectively.
  • Strong email writing and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in computer networking (1 year preferred).
  • Experience in LAN (1 year preferred).
  • Possession of a Confidential security clearance (preferred).
