About the position

As a Senior NOC Engineer at Citizens, you will be integral in supporting the organization's computer networks. This role involves collaborating with a skilled team to monitor, manage, and resolve network issues, ensuring the stability of business operations. You will leverage your technical expertise to implement changes, provide Tier II support, and enhance operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage network infrastructure; identify and resolve potential problems, alerts, issues, and incidents.
  • Collaborate with network engineering and IT teams to implement requests and standard changes.
  • Provide Tier II technical network support; leverage knowledge of network analysis and performance evaluation.
  • Assist with the resolution of escalating tickets; offer general support to IT service operations.
  • Audit technical network support tickets; document patterns and trends as they emerge.
  • Capture relevant information and escalate tickets to Tier II (Senior NOC Engineer).
  • Provide recommendations for improvements to establish efficiency and efficacy standards within the department.
  • Build and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
  • Engage 2nd lines, field services, and third parties as necessary to restore network services promptly.
  • Provide technical support to other members of the team.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years in a network operations role.
  • Familiarity with ticketing systems and ticket workflows.
  • Knowledge of network routing, switching, and wireless (preferably Cisco, Aruba, or Arista).
  • Ability to work under pressure while being mindful of customer experience.
  • Desire and motivation to learn and advance skill levels.
  • Ability to work unsupervised and prioritize work.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Familiar with network monitoring or supplemental tools (Algosec, Splunk, Panorama).
  • Familiar with network security products (preferably Palo Alto, Firepower, Netskope).
  • Preferably experience with vendor circuit triage troubleshooting.
  • Familiar with other network disciplines (Load Balancers, Proxy, VPN).
  • Network certification (CCNP, CompTIA, PCSNE) is a plus.
