About the position

The Network Operations Engineer - Associate Manager role involves providing operational leadership and resource management for the Network Operations team. This position is crucial for ensuring day-to-day support for multiple clients across various datacenter and Cloud environments, focusing on outage resolution and service restoration. The role requires effective communication with client teams and management, as well as the establishment of best practices to enhance team performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Provide operational leadership and resource management for the Network Operations team.
  • Support multiple clients within datacenter and Cloud environments, focusing on outage resolution.
  • Investigate outage causes, impacts on users, and resolutions.
  • Facilitate outage investigation and restoration of service to the Production Environment.
  • Organize meetings to facilitate the investigation of outages and subsequent service restoration.
  • Communicate status of outages and provide periodic updates to management and client teams.
  • Work with client teams to resolve errors and issues during outages.
  • Establish, monitor, and evaluate system metrics to enhance team performance and efficiency.
  • Provide operational support to ensure systems and devices are online and available, including non-business hours escalation on-call support.
  • Participate in group capability, staffing requirements, and potential new deal reviews.
  • Assist in resourcing, scope of work, and reporting discussions.
  • Provide operational guidance to Network Operations Engineers and other Operations staff.
  • Manage relationships with equipment/application/tool vendors to ensure service levels are met.
  • Plan and implement medium to high-risk changes on production security systems.
  • Analyze and assess the impact and risk of high-risk changes on production and non-production network environments.
  • Monitor vendors' release notes and plan necessary patching and upgrades of network equipment and tools.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years in managing/leading teams and resource management.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience on a network operations/engineering team.
  • Minimum of 5 years Fortinet/Cisco/Palo Alto Firewall support experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years Load balancing experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years Cloud Network Support experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (minimum of 12 years).

Nice-to-haves

  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, Cloud Specialized are a plus.
