About the position

The Network Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the design, management, and optimization of network systems to ensure efficient data, voice, and audio communication. This role involves leading a team of network professionals, conducting capacity planning, and evaluating new technologies to enhance network performance and customer experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the design, analysis, planning, modification, and maintenance of networks and network components to ensure optimal performance for data, voice, and audio communication activities.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Network Analysts, Network Engineers, NOC Analysts, and Security Engineers, providing guidance and support to ensure effective team performance.
  • Direct the analysis of short- and long-term capacity needs for switching, routing, transmission, and signaling.
  • Conduct network architecture design, feasibility studies, cost assessments, and internal performance and traffic analysis.
  • Continuously evaluate new technologies to enhance network efficiency and customer experience.
  • Provide detailed specifications and schematics for network architecture, hardware, and software selection.
  • Develop tools and solutions to address current and future business needs.
  • Oversee the testing and validation of network systems to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network and computer hardware/software interconnections, including routers, switches, firewalls, hubs, bridges, and gateways.
  • Administer and execute policies, processes, and procedures affecting team workflow.
  • Lead daily operations and ensure effective coordination of network activities with customer Points of Contact (POCs).

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree required; a degree in STEM or Business preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years in Network Management, with experience in managing geographically dispersed sites and large end-user bases.
  • ITIL v3 Practitioner certification required; ability to obtain ITIL 4 Managing Professional within the first six months.
  • CCNP (or equivalent, such as CCDP) is required.
  • Proven experience with Zero Trust Networks and a deep understanding of Zero Trust Security Principles.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing network engineers of varying levels.
