About the position

The Network Operations Specialist at L3Harris is responsible for monitoring, analyzing, and troubleshooting network issues within a 24x7 operations center. This role involves proactive identification of network disruptions, coordination with internal teams and external partners, and documentation of operational activities. The position requires working rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and is essential for maintaining network integrity and service restoration.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and analyze network problems within an operations center using network management tools.
• Perform root cause analysis to restore customer services.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external telecommunication partners for operational processes.
• Document Trouble Tickets and Change Requests related to network issues.
• Support short-term emergency evacuation to backup facilities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Networking, Information Technology or related field with 2 years of related experience, or 2 years post-Secondary/Associate's Degree with a minimum of 6 years of related experience.
• 0-1 year experience with domain knowledge of L1 through L4 of the OSI Model.
• 0-1 year experience with L2 and L3 protocols: OSPF, EIGRP, BGP, IBGP, EBGP, IS-IS, and MPLS.
• 0-1 year experience with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) and Network Management System (NMS) applications.
• 0-1 year experience with Change Management practices.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with Long Term Evolution (LTE) and VPN technologies.
• Experience with call center phone systems.
• Prior experience in maintaining high service levels in a demanding customer support services environment.
• CCENT, CCNA, CCNP and/or ITIL certifications.
