About the position

The Operations Specialist role at a leading Digital Gaming and Entertainment organization focuses on monitoring and responding to incidents across global operations to ensure a seamless user experience. The position emphasizes rapid detection, triage, and resolution of player-impacting issues while continuously enhancing service processes through improved monitoring tools and documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor incoming communications to quickly identify and track incidents
  • Use systems, network, and cloud expertise to triage and address issues as a first responder
  • Resolve player and user-impacting issues efficiently
  • Conduct routine follow-ups on active incidents to ensure progress toward resolution
  • Manage requests for access, network maintenance, and systems adjustments
  • Refine alert triggers to reduce false positives
  • Oversee documentation, engagement, and communications during critical service outages
  • Update and improve documentation, such as runbooks, troubleshooting guides, and operational procedures

Requirements

  • Experience with Linux operating systems (bash, debugging)
  • Knowledge of networking concepts including packet loss, routing, and ACLs
  • Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Datadog
  • Experience with alert correlation tools like BigPanda, ScienceLogic, and Netcool
  • Proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, and OpenStack
  • Understanding of ITIL and service operations including incident/change management
  • Experience with logging systems like Splunk, SysLog, and ELK Stack
  • Familiarity with source control and CI/CD tools such as GitHub, Jenkins, and Argo
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Terraform, and Ansible
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
  • Experience with load balancing tools like Nginx, HAProxy, and Envoy
