About the position

The Network Operations Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the network team, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment, and maintaining high network performance standards. This role involves collaboration with various departments to achieve optimal network availability and managing inventory levels for necessary equipment and materials.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day to day operations with Technicians, CSRs, Engineers, and others as needed.
• Assist with resolving customer issues as needed.
• Monitor network statistics as needed.
• Report on major network issues and provide progress updates and Estimated Time to Repair.
• Perform maintenance, repairs, or software upgrades to all network equipment as required.
• Perform maintenance and changes in switch as needed.
• Troubleshoot customer issues including but not limited to issues placing or receiving calls.
• Handle CNAM issues and database updates.
• Resolve any trouble with the switch and upgrade software as needed in coordination with C Spire personnel.
• Prepare Service Orders for special circuits that are ordered to get them ready for installers.
• Create Service Orders and/or assist techs when performing cutovers.
• Maintain records including equipment port assignment, fiber assignment, and splitter input/output port assignment for routine service orders and work orders.
• Use AutoCAD or other mapping/drawing software as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma required; higher education or experience in a similar field preferred.
• Ability to lift 65 pounds unassisted.
• Sufficient dexterity and mobility to work with various test equipment and hand tools.
• Agility to bend, stoop, crawl, and work outdoors for extended periods and on a ladder as required.
• Ability to work some evenings, weekends, and holidays in an on-call/emergency environment.
• Ability to drive for extended periods in all types of weather.
• Adaptability to perform in a rapidly changing work environment.
• Valid driver's license and insurable; ability to obtain a commercial class A (CDL) license if required.
