About the position

The Network Operations Team Lead at GDIT will oversee a team of network engineers and architects to support the Guard Enterprise Cyber Operations Support (GECOS) program. This role involves managing the operation, modernization, and expansion of the ARNG's global IT services, including networking, compute, storage, and cybersecurity. The position requires a strong focus on IT Service Management (ITSM) using ITIL best practices, ensuring the integrity and security of the network infrastructure while meeting strategic project goals.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a team of 15+ network engineers and architects to develop complex solutions for ARNG strategic projects.
  • Provide architecture and technology gap analysis and recommend solutions to improve operations and security.
  • Manage workload to balance operational and project activities and priorities.
  • Develop, maintain, and report on CORA and ATO POAMs.
  • Support CORA coordination and maintain Life Cycle management plan.
  • Develop and maintain standard operating procedures and system change requests.
  • Implement a proactive capacity planning model to support business decisions.
  • Supervise network engineers and technicians in the operations and maintenance of DoD networks.
  • Evaluate new application, infrastructure, and cloud decisions in the context of business strategy.
  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced IT staff.
  • Serve as liaison with senior clients to ensure their needs are met.
  • Provide problem and incident resolution, including vendor technical support.
  • Perform daily system monitoring and verify the integrity of networking hardware and services.
  • Document and conduct changes during ASI windows and provide leadership in troubleshooting.
  • Collaborate with the Security team to identify and remediate vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain network integrity and compliance with policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of relevant experience as a Network Administrator/Engineer and 5+ years managing a team of 5+ personnel.
  • 6+ years' experience with Cisco and/or Palo Alto Routing, Switching, IDS/IPS, and Firewall technologies.
  • Understanding of BGP/OSPF, MPLS, Firewall and IDS/IPS policies, DISA STIGs, CCRI and ATP requirements.
  • IT experience supporting large enterprise environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Dependability and customer service experience.
