About the position

The Network Operations Tier II Manager at Peraton is responsible for overseeing the management, operations, and maintenance of the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) network infrastructure. This role involves real-time incident monitoring, predictive analysis, incident resolution, and coordination of network communications. The position requires managing a team of technicians in a 24/7 operational environment to ensure network performance and stability.

Responsibilities

• Support the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Network Management Support Services.
• Provide real-time incident monitoring and predictive analysis.
• Manage incident resolution and escalation processes.
• Coordinate events related to network communications and availability analysis.
• Oversee Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN) operations.
• Plan and execute security remediations and OS upgrades to network devices.
• Monitor network services and respond to events and alarms.
• Support the incident management process, including defining impact and escalation.

Requirements

• 10 years of experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) environment providing Tier II support.
• US Citizenship with the ability to obtain a Public Trust.
• Working understanding of the OSI model Layers 1-3.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and network technologies.
• Understanding of network security devices, IPsec VPNs, routing, switching, VRF, VLANs, and load balancers.
• Ability to set up tools and interpret data from Wireshark, Syslog, Netscout, and SteelCentral.
