About The Position

As a Network Performance Analyst at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of network infrastructure for the Department of Defense. This position involves deploying and maintaining an enterprise-level network monitoring solution, tracking and analyzing network traffic, and identifying application performance issues to enhance user experience. You will collaborate with end-users and government customers to develop monitoring processes and provide insights for improving network efficiency and reliability.

Requirements

  • Active Secret Clearance required; Top-Secret Clearance is nice to have.
  • Active Security+ CE Certification (or higher) at time of hire.
  • One or more active network certifications: Network+, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA-Junos, JNCIS-ENT.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.
  • 5+ years of directly related experience in networking technologies, specifically switches and routers and resolving complex LAN/WAN issues.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and/or Arista technologies.
  • Experience with TACACS, Radius (ACS / ISE), SNMP, Syslog, ACL's, VLAN, Routing and Switching.
  • Working knowledge of NetScout, InfoVista, or other network monitoring tools.

  • Experience in continuously assessing and optimizing network performance for maximum efficiency.
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to align network operations with business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with end-users and government customers to identify key performance indicators (KPIs) for complex systems and infrastructure development.
  • Develop monitoring processes based on findings through use case scenarios, workflow diagrams, and data models.
  • Develop and execute test plans to check the technical performance of infrastructure and systems.
  • Provide briefings and reports on findings and recommendations for improvement.
  • Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and monitoring software.
  • Configure the monitoring system to test the availability of infrastructure and services to measure user experience.
  • Define system components, ensure scalability, and guide the overall technical direction of the project.
