About the position

As a Network Performance Analyst at General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of network infrastructure by deploying and maintaining an enterprise-level network monitoring solution. This position involves continuous observation and management of the organization's network infrastructure, focusing on tracking and analyzing network traffic to ensure peak efficiency and identifying application performance issues. You will collaborate with end-users and government customers to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and develop monitoring processes to enhance network performance and reliability.

Responsibilities

  • Deploy and maintain an enterprise-level network monitoring solution.
  • Track and analyze network traffic to ensure peak efficiency.
  • Monitor the health and status of all physical devices within the network.
  • Scrutinize network traffic to identify application performance issues and potential bottlenecks.
  • Collaborate with end-users and government customers to identify key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Develop monitoring processes based on findings through use case scenarios and data models.
  • Develop and execute test plans to check the technical performance of infrastructure and systems.
  • Provide briefings and reports on findings and recommendations for improvement.
  • Document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and monitoring software.
  • Configure the monitoring system to test the availability of infrastructure and services.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of related experience in networking technologies, specifically Switches and Routers.
  • Active Secret Clearance required; Top-Secret Clearance is a plus.
  • Active Security+ CE Certification (or higher) at time of hire.
  • One or more active network certifications such as Network+, CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA-Junos, or JNCIS-ENT.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Familiarity with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, and/or Arista technologies.
  • Experience with TACACS, Radius (ACS/ISE), SNMP, Syslog, ACL's, VLAN, Routing and Switching.

Nice-to-haves

  • Working knowledge of NetScout, InfoVista, or other network monitoring tools.
  • Experience in resolving complex Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) issues.
