About the position

As a Network Production Engineer at Meta, you will play a crucial role in building and maintaining the backbone and data center network infrastructure that supports our global operations. This position involves collaborating with various engineering teams to ensure the reliability and efficiency of our network systems. You will be responsible for developing optimized network monitoring systems, designing and deploying new network architectures, and implementing automated methods to mitigate and remediate network events. Your analytical skills will be put to the test as you analyze data to diagnose and identify root causes of network issues, ensuring that our infrastructure remains robust and responsive to the needs of our users. In this role, you will actively participate in deep technical discussions, contributing your insights and expertise to enhance our network infrastructure. You will also be tasked with testing new network products and piloting them in production data center networks before a mass rollout. This includes developing test automation frameworks integrated into our CI/CD pipeline to qualify network software prior to deployment in production environments. You will be expected to develop tests that qualify complex network migration procedures in lab or emulation settings before executing them in production. Additionally, you will work closely with in-house software development teams to test software features in FBOSS (our Network Operating System software) and qualify vendor software releases for deployment across our fleet. Building and operating data center test lab networks will also be part of your responsibilities, along with participating in the data center network on-call rotation to ensure continuous support and maintenance of our network systems.
