About the position

The position involves performing diagnostic imaging examinations on patients in both clinic and hospital settings, ensuring the production of quality diagnostic images. The technologist will operate various imaging equipment and deliver excellent patient care throughout the imaging process, while adhering to safety guidelines and protocols.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging examinations on patients.
• Operate imaging equipment to produce diagnostic images according to patient cases and guidelines.
• Ensure quality of images for clinical purposes.
• Accurately position patients during radiographic procedures.
• Conduct image operations based on provider requests and technical factors.
• Implement radiation safety guidelines and practices during imaging.
• Deliver patient care and education before, during, and after procedures.
• Navigate the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Perform additional duties as assigned, including on-call rotations and mobile imaging.

Requirements

• Completion of an educational program accepted by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• Working knowledge of diagnostic radiographic principles, including positioning, film/image processing, quality control, and radiation protection.
• Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
• At least one additional modality recognized by ARRT (e.g., CT, MR, M, BD).
• Licensure with the North Dakota Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Board (NDMIRT) if working in North Dakota.
• Permit to practice through the Iowa Department of Public Health if working in Iowa.
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification may be required at some clinic locations within the first eight weeks of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment.
