We are seeking a Network Security Development Engineer II to provide technical thought leadership for securing Whole Foods Market's next-generation networks. As we look to the future, our networks will support an ecosystem of robotics, industrial IoT, sensors, drones, and mobile devices. In this role, you will be responsible for the security operations of the global network, ensuring that our systems are robust and scalable. You will need to be comfortable with taking risks and iterating on designs that may initially fail, ultimately delivering systems that elegantly scale. Information security and network reliability are at the core of your thought processes, and you will be respected as an influencer within the organization. A passion for working with new technologies and pushing the envelope on existing technology is essential. A high level of ownership and a bias for action are required to be successful in this role. Your key responsibilities will include driving the scaling of current network security designs to meet customer demands, creating simple processes that enhance our network security posture, and working closely with internal customers to alleviate their problems. You will also be involved in new designs and solutions, bringing them from concept to operational status. Additionally, you will create and update our network security standards, ensuring adherence to these standards across the network. You will review and implement changes on the network through automation and orchestration solutions, driving operational excellence projects to improve network quality and reliability. Troubleshooting complex problems and developing innovative solutions will be part of your day-to-day activities, as well as working with a wide range of complex technologies, including optical engineering. This role requires a highly autonomous individual with strong written and verbal communication skills, project management, and time management skills. A successful track record of designing simple solutions and troubleshooting complex network problems is essential, along with the desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
