About the position

The Network Security Engineer (DevSecOps) at Intel is responsible for designing, architecting, and building secure classified network products to support U.S. Government operations. This role is crucial in ensuring that Intel's products meet stringent security requirements and regulatory standards, particularly for federal projects. The engineer will work within Intel's Information Security organization to enhance the secure solution suite and ensure compliance with U.S. Government regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Architect network and network security products in secured enclaves, including product testing, validation, and selection.
  • Design and long-term roadmap planning for new and future scalability in secure enclaves.
  • Lead the definition of system security requirements, including authorization boundaries and security domains.
  • Design security interfaces, interconnections, and trust relationships between system components and external systems.
  • Implement system security designs using COTS, GOTS, and open-source hardware and software.
  • Oversee the hardening and configuration of systems in accordance with Federal, DoD, and IC guidance.
  • Coordinate security assessments to identify security control failures and recommend corrective actions.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship verification due to legal restrictions for supporting U.S. government customers.
  • Active US Government Top Secret (TS) security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
  • Bachelor's degree with 7+ years of experience or a master's degree with 4+ years of experience in systems engineering, Cyber Security Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience configuring and implementing networks and network security infrastructure, including Software Defined Network and Firewall infrastructure.
  • 7+ years of experience as a system administrator working with Data Center migrations, server upgrades, O/S and firmware patching.
  • 5+ years of experience monitoring security bulletins and alerts from network system vendors.
  • Experience with DoD security implementation (e.g., STIG) and security tools.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience designing and architecting network security solutions within the USG or a DIB partner.
  • Experience implementing NIST 800-171 and/or NIST 800-53.
  • Experience with DEVSECOPS Principles and configuring Cross Domain Solutions (CDS).
  • 2+ years of experience implementing and configuring Firewall infrastructure in a secured enterprise environment.
  • Experience administering servers, backup operations, and systems monitoring in complex network environments.
  • Experience with business continuity and disaster recovery; installing and configuring servers and hardware.
  • Experience with network analysis software.
  • Certifications in cybersecurity such as CCSP or CISSP.
  • Experience with scripting in the UNIX environment.
  • Experience utilizing Ansible as a configuration management tool.
