About the position

The Senior Network Security Engineer Lead at ManTech is responsible for providing comprehensive network security solutions for a large U.S. Government program. This role involves managing and implementing security measures for LAN and WAN environments, overseeing various security technologies, and collaborating with multiple teams to enhance cyber defense and resilience. The position requires a strong background in network security, hands-on experience with specific technologies, and the ability to mentor and guide other team members.

Responsibilities

  • Provide network security for the customer's LAN environment, Remote Access, site to site VPNs, Wireless, TIC and support for the WAN.
  • Manage and implement physical and AWS cloud-based firewalls, proxies, VPN concentrators, and related network security technologies.
  • Manage and monitor the Cisco ISE solution for identity management.
  • Develop, implement, and sustain network operating rules, objects, and flows across a complex, global enterprise.
  • Implement, operate, configure, maintain, and replace Internal Proofpoint Mail Servers as needed.
  • Collaborate with groups to support the Zscaler environment and customer's TIC.
  • Work with Security Operations Center and other Information Security teams on security strategies and processes.
  • Support Incident Response on security incidents including mock exercises.
  • Analyze network infrastructure to improve efficiencies and reduce security threats.
  • Provide mentorship and training to Information Security and internal teams.
  • Participate in audits covering network security services and technologies.
  • Conduct proactive research and provide recommendations for continuous improvement in information security technologies.
  • Participate in on-call coverage and escalate problems effectively.
  • Present project status reports to senior management and contribute to policy development.
  • Work closely with business and application owners on new application deployment and enhancements.
  • Perform internal audits to ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate new and emerging network security trends, products, and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of IT experience, with at least 5 years providing network security support for LAN and WAN environments.
  • Hands-on experience with Fortigate (Fortinet, FortiAnalyzer, FortiManager), Cisco ISE, and Zscaler.
  • Experience in researching, evaluating, testing, recommending, and implementing new security software or devices.
  • Experience in developing, testing, and operating firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and enterprise anti-virus systems.
  • Familiarity with current network security technological developments and applications.
  • Experience in evaluating vendor products for purchase recommendations.
