The Network Security Engineer at Riverview Bank is a critical role that applies specialized knowledge of Cyber Security and Network Security protocols to design, implement, and manage secure network infrastructures. This position is responsible for safeguarding the integrity and confidentiality of organizational data and IT resources. The engineer will proactively hunt for security threats and work iteratively to mitigate risks associated with network vulnerabilities. The role requires a deep understanding of both Wide Area and Local Area Networking, as well as complex wireless networking, to support secure access for voice and video applications. In this technical position, the engineer will configure and set up Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and Security appliances to ensure secure access to vital business applications. The role also involves maintaining multi-site network operations, software applications, and operating systems, while performing regular maintenance on both private and public facilities. Continuous monitoring of network traffic is essential, as the engineer will develop and execute strategies to identify and mitigate potential security threats, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. The Network Security Engineer will also be responsible for installing and configuring client and server software, managing patch updates, and adhering to security hardening standards. Staying abreast of emerging technology issues that impact future procurement decisions is crucial. The engineer will respond to inquiries from various stakeholders, providing technical assistance and first-level network administration support. Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications is a key responsibility, as is leading the evaluation and implementation of advanced threat intelligence feeds to proactively identify and neutralize cyber threats. Documentation is a significant part of this role, as the engineer will develop and maintain comprehensive records of network security architectures, protocols, policies, and incident response procedures. Collaboration with cross-functional teams is necessary to design and manage advanced network security solutions that comply with stringent financial industry regulations. The engineer will also help develop and audit security guidelines and practices, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
