About the position

The Sr. Network Security Engineer role involves providing security services support for clients' firewall environments, responding to operational requests, and acting as a second level of escalation for incident resolution. The engineer will work closely with the Security Manager to review new technologies, assist in developing standard operating procedures, and monitor network security health.

Responsibilities

  • Provide security services support for clients' firewall environment.
  • Respond to operational requests and act as the second level of escalation for incident resolution.
  • Work closely with the Security Manager to review new technologies and standards.
  • Assist with the development of SOPs, runbooks, and other operational resources for the security team.
  • Monitor traffic logs and create security-related reports.
  • Set network monitor thresholds and oversee network security health.
  • Design, analyze, plan, modify, and maintain network and security components.
  • Manage all security equipment supporting the enterprise for project and operational requirements.
  • Evaluate new network and security technology.
  • Analyze firewall policies and configurations to ensure compliance with business requirements.
  • Review and complete firewall requests.
  • Test network and security systems.
  • Monitor and resolve network incidents on a 24X7 basis.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 10 years of experience in network and cyber security.
  • If no bachelor's degree, a high school diploma plus 15 years of experience is acceptable.
  • PCNSA and/or PCNSE certifications are required.
  • Strong experience with Palo Alto NGFW security products, including Palo Alto Panorama and Firewalls.
  • Experience designing and deploying security technologies and load balancer solutions.
  • Experience managing large application build and move projects.
  • Strong background with Service and Change Management.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with Palo Alto Panorama, Firewalls, Prisma, and Imperva's WAF.
  • Ability to present complex technical concepts in understandable language.
  • Possession of excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
  • Experience creating and presenting project plans and designs.
