The Network Security Engineer will be a vital member of a global team responsible for overseeing the operations of critical network and platform security infrastructure for Koch Industries. This role is situated within a high-tech cybersecurity team at a product-based company, where you will collaborate with some of the brightest minds in technology. The primary focus will be on developing, building, and supporting tools that empower global teams to defend against cyberattacks and ensure the smooth operation of the business. As network security becomes increasingly integral to IT functions, the Network Security Engineer will play a crucial role in implementing security tools and procedures within the network security environment. This position requires a proactive approach to configuring and maintaining systems that protect Koch Industries from cybersecurity threats. In this dynamic and fast-paced environment, the Network Security Engineer will be responsible for the operations of perimeter and Process Control Network security environments. This includes handling requests, troubleshooting issues, setting up new systems, logging activities, and reporting on alerts. The role demands a strong foundation in technical implementation, particularly in firewalls, proxies, and reverse proxies, along with effective communication, collaboration, customer focus, economic and critical thinking, project management, leadership, and value creation skills. The ideal candidate will have basic to advanced experience with SIEM tools like Splunk and will be adept at operating, documenting, and maintaining security controls. Additionally, familiarity with configuring, maintaining, and optimizing systems such as Palo Alto and FortiGate firewalls, Zscaler proxy servers, and other policy-based network security devices is essential. Understanding and hands-on experience with Cisco ISE, Meraki, and Cisco WLC, as well as knowledge of SDWAN, OSPF, and other LAN protocols, will be beneficial. The candidate must also be willing to participate in on-call support as needed.
