About the position

The Network Security Engineer at Volt is responsible for the secure design and implementation of both cloud and physical infrastructure to align with organizational strategic initiatives. This role involves providing expert guidance based on industry best practices to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of resources, while also serving as a mentor for IT peers.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a secure technology infrastructure based on industry best practices.
• Ensure secure deployment and maintenance of cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Create and communicate documentation of standards and guidelines regarding required controls and monitoring.
• Utilize technology to create deployment templates that enforce a standard subset of controls for new implementations.
• Provide expert guidance in the completion of organizational initiatives regarding cybersecurity trends and best practices.
• Engage with other IT departments to integrate cybersecurity best practices within the company's systems and processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required.
• 3-5 years' experience in securing physical or cloud-based infrastructure or equivalent education and experience.
• At least three security-based certifications preferred, including one Azure security certification at the intermediate level.
• A minimum of one currently active standardized Cybersecurity industry certification (e.g., GIAC, ISC2, ISACA, EC-Council).
• Demonstrated knowledge of application and operating system hardening, vulnerability assessments, and security audits.
• Proven knowledge of various operating system implementations including Windows, Linux, and virtualization technology.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience with intrusion prevention systems, firewalls, VPNs, and other security control systems.
