About the position

The Network Security Engineer will support a healthcare client by ensuring the security and integrity of the network infrastructure. This role involves working closely with senior engineers to install, configure, and maintain network security systems, particularly focusing on Palo Alto Networks solutions. The consultant will troubleshoot complex security issues and provide technical leadership in network deployment projects.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, operate, and maintain core network infrastructure with a focus on Palo Alto Networks security appliances.
• Ensure security standards and best practices are implemented across the network.
• Troubleshoot complex, second- and third-level security issues, particularly involving Palo Alto firewalls.
• Provide technical security leadership around Palo Alto firewall solutions and network deployment projects.
• Create and manage configuration files and templates for Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama management solutions.
• Configure policies and access controls to ensure data protection and network security.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in network security with a heavy focus on Palo Alto Networks solutions.
• Expertise in TCP/IP networking concepts, with experience in BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, STP, NAT, HSRP/VRRP, VRF, QoS, and multicast.
• Experience with Palo Alto Panorama, creating and managing configurations for large-scale, multi-site deployments.
• Proven ability to lead project-based work, focusing on mid to high-level design of network security architectures.
• Strong skills for troubleshooting Palo Alto firewalls and Panorama configurations.
• Experience with Palo Alto 7000 series firewalls.
• Familiarity with Cisco networking products.
