About the position

The Network/Security Operations Center Analyst 1 position is a critical role within the organization, serving as the first line of defense against network disruptions and cybersecurity threats. Analysts in this role will work in a high-pressure environment, collaborating with various technical teams to identify, investigate, and resolve issues while minimizing business impact. The position requires a strong analytical mindset and the ability to thrive under shifting priorities, with a focus on maintaining high uptime requirements in a 24/7 operational environment.

Responsibilities

• Interact positively with peers, other departments, internal/external customers, and vendors to identify operational issues.
• Collect and review performance reports for various systems, reporting trends to senior technical personnel.
• Diagnose server or network alerts, events, or issues effectively.
• Support multiple technical teams in a 24 x 7 x 365 operational environment.
• Implement strategic plans based on assessed situations and tactical steps forward.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering/science/information technology discipline or equivalent experience.
• Strong ability to diagnose server or network alerts, events, or issues.
• General understanding of TCP/IP Networking and Server infrastructure.
• Understanding of common information architecture frameworks.
• General understanding and/or experience with Information Security and Incident Response.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior helpdesk and/or field support experience.
• Prior NOC/SOC experience.
• Experience with Security Incident and Event Management (SIEM).
• Familiarity with common Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS).
• Experience with SolarWinds, System Center Operations Manager, or other monitoring tools.
