About the position

EchoStar Corporation is seeking a Network Security Sales Engineer to join our Hughes Network Systems division, located in Germantown, MD. This role is pivotal in developing and recommending network security measures for our customers, which include Firewalls, Access Points, PCI compliance, and other essential network devices. The successful candidate will coordinate network design activities with associated network designers, ensuring that all security measures align with customer needs and industry standards. In this position, you will be responsible for creating conceptual, logical, and physical network designs tailored to our clients' requirements. You will prepare detailed network specifications, which will include diagrams, charts, equipment configurations, and recommended technologies. Additionally, you will be tasked with preparing design presentations and proposals for both internal stakeholders and customers, showcasing your designs and recommendations effectively. A key aspect of this role involves researching new networking technologies to identify solutions that will best support our customers' organizations in the future. This proactive approach will ensure that EchoStar remains at the forefront of network security solutions, providing our clients with the most effective and innovative technologies available.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and recommend customers' network security measures such as Firewall, Access points, PCI compliance and other network devices.
  • Coordinate network or design activities with designers of associated networks.
  • Develop conceptual, logical, or physical network designs.
  • Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, charts, equipment configurations, or recommended technologies.
  • Prepare design presentations and proposals for internal stakeholders and customers.
  • Research new networking technologies to determine what would best support customers' organizations in the future.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Computer Networking, Cybersecurity, Computer Engineering or a closely related field plus 6 months' experience in network security, or a Bachelor's degree in the same fields plus 5 years' experience in network security.
  • Experience must include 6 months in each of the following: network firewall; access points; PCI compliance; networking technologies; IT auditing and governance; business continuity/disaster recovery; cyber defense; digital forensics; security testing and assessment; and cyber physical system security.
