About the position

The Network Services Manager at AECOM is responsible for overseeing the global IT infrastructure, ensuring its security, availability, and performance to support the company's operations. This role involves managing network operations, driving service improvements, and maintaining relationships with managed service providers. The position allows for hybrid work, combining in-office presence with remote work.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the high availability and performance of the global network environment.
  • Drive process and service improvement initiatives across the global network.
  • Ensure high performance of service delivery from managed service providers.
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Participate in compliance activities, including tracking plans and maintaining action plans for audits.
  • Oversee all areas of network operations, including local and wide area networking configuration.
  • Plan and direct the installation, testing, and operation of IT services in coordination with the PMO.
  • Participate in cross-function presentations where technology is a key differentiator.
  • Work with Change Management to ensure all changes are properly vetted and approved before implementation.
  • Provide regular communications and updates on technical strategic direction and performance.
  • Proactively seek out ways to mitigate risk within IT.
  • Demonstrate an analytical and systematic approach to problem solving.
  • Ensure that all escalated issues are resolved appropriately.
  • Develop and implement a global network strategy in line with the company's goals.
  • Establish and maintain credible working relationships with business contacts.
  • Recommend opportunities to improve overall user satisfaction and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Manage and oversee the global network budget for cost-effectiveness.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest network management best practices and technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • At least 8 years of network management experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Experience in managing network security and compliance.
  • Experience overseeing extensively outsourced operations.
  • Experience within a large, complex, global organization.
  • Experience working with global network and telco vendors.
  • Experience in IT infrastructure and applications development.
  • Experience in IT network architecture at the enterprise level, including Cisco Routing and switching, Firewall configuration, and Load balancing.
  • Ability to work well with peers in a matrix structure.
  • Experience in IT Service Delivery.
  • Experience with network security protocols and standards.
  • Knowledge of network management software and hardware.
  • Experience with network troubleshooting and performance tuning.
