About the position

The Network Services Technical Project Manager is responsible for managing technology teams involved in the development, testing, implementation, support, and maintenance of technology solutions within the County of Ventura. This role ensures that project deliverables are met and coordinates with various County agencies to achieve project goals. The position requires extensive project management experience and effective communication skills to manage conflicting priorities and collaborate with different stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Manage one or more technology teams involved in the development, testing, implementation, support, and maintenance of technology solutions.
  • Ensure project deliverables are being met and coordinate with other County agencies.
  • Determine functional requirements for projects in collaboration with ITSD staff and County agencies/departments.
  • Document and track the creation of detailed requirements and manage the project life cycle from ideation to completion.
  • Assist senior ITSD management in formulating policies and establishing ITSD standards.
  • Supervise systems and programming project team staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience in Information Technology (IT) project management.
  • Working knowledge of systems design, programming, infrastructure, security, or related IT services.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification.
  • Possession of or ability to obtain a valid California driver license.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Some supervisory experience.
