About the position

The Network Solutions Architect is a senior role responsible for guiding and defining architecture programs that align with the client's business strategy. This position involves working on multiple IT projects, facilitating the development of future-state architecture, and ensuring effective adoption across business areas. The architect will interface with various stakeholders, create formal conceptual and solution architectures, and present them to senior staff and the Enterprise Architecture Review Council. The role requires a blend of strategic and tactical thinking, with a focus on improving methods and embracing new technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Work on multiple IT projects as a member of a project team.
  • Provide overall direction, guidance, and definition of architecture programs.
  • Facilitate the development of future-state architecture and ensure its effective adoption.
  • Interface across all business areas to define the direction for future projects.
  • Conceive strategies and solutions, build consensus, and execute solutions.
  • Involved in all aspects of the project life cycle from kickoff through implementation.
  • Ensure applications and servers are built with best practices and reusability.
  • Meet and present to the Enterprise Architecture Review Council for approval and advice.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree, specialized training, or equivalent work experience.
  • 8 to 15 years of experience in multiple IT areas.
  • 5 to 7 years of relevant technology architecture experience.
  • Hands-on Network Access Control (NAC) experience.
  • Hands-on Cisco ISE experience.
  • Hands-on Cisco DNA experience.

Nice-to-haves

  • Well-grounded in architectural modeling and service-oriented architecture principles.
  • Experience as a Solution Architect for large-scale IT programs.
  • Demonstrated success in developing solutions that solve business problems.
  • Experience in the design and implementation of SOA and Services in an enterprise setting.
  • Transportation Industry experience.
  • Broad IT experience in networking technologies.
  • Knowledge of EA frameworks.
