About the position
The Network Specialist position at the Miami Valley Educational Computer Association (MVECA) involves providing essential network support services, including the installation, maintenance, configuration, and support of equipment related to WAN and LAN deployments. The role requires a dedicated individual who can work independently and collaboratively to ensure reliable network operations within educational environments.
Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, configure, and support WAN and LAN equipment.
- Support and maintain associated servers and applications within network environments.
- Train and support clients on network-related issues.
- Develop training materials and supplemental documentation for users.
- Evaluate, prioritize, and solve complex networking problems.
- Establish and maintain working relationships with co-workers and clients.
Requirements
- Minimum of an Associate's Degree in a technology-related field or equivalent work experience.
- 5 years of experience with Microsoft Windows Server and LAN.
- In-depth knowledge of computing environments and network troubleshooting.
- Ability to train and support clients effectively.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with minimal supervision.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with Cisco IOS and mobile device management.
- Group presentation and customer training experience.
- Work experience in the information technology industry.
