About the position

To perform Application, Network or Communication System Administration duties required within the department. Maintain and design fully functional application, network or communication system at an economic level and provide efficient and effective services at all time.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure fully functional, designed, engineered, application / network / communication systems.
  • Monitor application / network performance on an ongoing basis, evaluate solutions and improvement of the technology scenarios and make recommendations to Management that include preliminary cost and benefit analysis.
  • Assist in the procurement of products by being principally responsible for analyzing and monitoring network and computing platform needs to maintain a consistent platform performance.
  • Ensure information systems and data are secure from threats, with effective recovery and contingency plans.
  • Monitor and analyze usage trends, through procedures, filters, monitors, and reports implemented in the department.
  • Successfully coordinate project implementations while maintaining cost control, project scheduling, and appropriate use of resources to ensure project deadlines are met.
  • Provide Maintenance support to the Operating Unit which will enable the Unit to achieve smooth operation, manufacture high-quality products and avoid unscheduled process interruptions.
  • Communicate and work with Operations continuously to establish equipment criticality and providing standby equipment for critical equipment.
  • Develop and maintain reports on system status and uptime, performance, and improvements that need to be made.

Requirements

  • High School Education with 10 years technical training in area of Information Systems or related technology; Or Assoc. in applied science in computer information systems - networking or relative field with 5 years experience.
  • 5-10 years work experience in designing, troubleshooting and administration of a network system with 250+ users in Information Technology or related field, based on education.

  • Handle and manage the stress associated with the position, often changing from one task to another of a different nature.
  • Physical requirements include duties common to a regular office environment.
  • Travel to off-site locations or other business functions as needed requirement to travel means having a valid driver's license and being prepared to drive a motor vehicle and to fly with overnight stays required.
