About the position

The Network Storage Engineer position involves managing centralized storage technologies and supporting the Infrastructure Services team in overseeing the full storage system life cycle. This includes planning, acquiring, deploying, and managing various storage solutions such as Pure, Rubrik, EMC, and NetApp. The role requires collaboration with Infrastructure Engineering to ensure effective storage management and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, design, implement, upgrade, and manage the client's SAN/NAS environment
• Troubleshoot storage and networking issues related to SAN/NAS services
• Gather requirements and provide technical planning and documentation for future storage needs
• Develop a long-term SAN/NAS storage road-map including technology selection, sizing, and refresh dates
• Document processes and procedures for storage life-cycle management
• Install and configure storage monitoring solutions to track storage health and utilization
• Provide actionable alerts and run-books for Network Operations Center support

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years related experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
• Experience with block, object, and file storage solutions including Pure, EMC, VPlex, XtremIO, ECS Object Storage, Unity technologies
• Experience documenting technical solutions using Atlassian Confluence and Microsoft Visio
• Solid understanding of NFS, iSCSI, CIFS, S3, and FC storage protocols
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to document strategies and designs and present to management with benefits analysis
