About the position

The position involves producing a comprehensive process map of all processes and their high-level interfaces to ensure integration, consistency, and continuity across all processes. The role requires designing secure and resilient technology architectures that meet current and anticipated future IT requirements of the organization. Regular reviews and audits of the design of all processes, roles, responsibilities, and documentation for efficiency, effectiveness, and compliance are essential. Additionally, the position entails designing measurement methods and metrics to support the continual improvement of service provision and all supporting processes. The candidate will be responsible for producing and maintaining all aspects of IT specifications, including overall designs, architectures, topologies, and configurations of the infrastructure, environment, applications, and data, along with the design documentation of all IT systems. Proactive and innovative IT solutions for the improvement of IT design and operation are expected to be recommended whenever possible. Translating logical designs into physical designs while considering business requirements, target environments, processes, performance requirements, existing systems and services, and potential safety-related aspects is also a key responsibility. The role includes creating and maintaining IT design policies, philosophies, and criteria, ensuring that all new services meet their service levels and targets. The candidate will work with capacity management to review IT traffic volumes and requirements, identify trends in traffic flows and levels of service, and propose design enhancements to IT infrastructure, capacity changes, continuity, backup, and recovery arrangements as required. The position also involves reviewing IT costs against external service providers, initiating proposals to change IT design for cost reductions and benefits, and providing advice and guidance to management on the design and planning phases of IT systems. The candidate will interface with designers and planners from external vendors and service providers, play a major role in the selection of new IT infrastructure or technology solutions, and assume technical responsibility for IT standards, policy, and design for significant projects or major application areas. Full responsibility for the design aspects of all stages of the lifecycle of IT systems is required, along with constructing, interpreting, and monitoring test plans to verify correct operation of completed systems against their design objectives. The candidate will assess changes for their conformance to design principles and manage strategic Technical Services projects as directed. The role includes directing the management of telecommunications, desktop, and network initiatives, preparing and managing departmental budgets, ensuring appropriate staffing, providing departmental leadership, and being on call 24x7 for operational emergencies requiring management attention.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, Business Administration, or related field.
• Five to ten years managing, designing, and implementing network, desktop, and telecommunications solutions.
• Experience in CISCO network design, telecommunications, and desktop management.
• Staff development experience.
• Time management, organizational, and effective communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality.
• Must successfully pass background investigation according to company policy.
• Ability to get along with co-workers and work effectively in a team environment.
