About the position

The Network Support Engineer at Rockwell Automation provides technical support to field engineers, technicians, and product support personnel in diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, and debugging systems. This role involves responding to complex issues that first-line support cannot resolve, reporting design and maintenance problems, and potentially assisting with customer installations and training. The position is hybrid, based in Mayfield Heights, Ohio, and primarily involves weekend work with flexible weekday hours.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to customers or field personnel in the configuration and troubleshooting of Stratix Ethernet Switches, Dell EMC Servers, VMware virtualization, and Industrial Networks via phone, chat, and email.
  • Manage customer interactions, including setting expectations, capturing issues and resolutions in Service Ticket notes, and following up with customers promptly.
  • Interact and support additional core areas of Automation, including controllers, operator interfaces, and networks.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Ability to work within the United States without sponsorship.
  • 0+ years of experience in a similar position/field.
  • 2 years of Cisco experience.
  • Knowledge of LAN/WAN Network Technologies.
  • Experience with Servers, Networking, Linux OS, and VMware vSphere.
  • Knowledge of Cybersecurity applications.
  • Practical knowledge in the use of virtualization technology, such as VMware (vSphere) or VMware Certified Associate/Professional.
  • Knowledge of Windows Server 2012/2016 (AD, DHCP, DNS, RDP, etc.).
  • Knowledge of communication Networks such as ControlNet, DeviceNet, RS-232, RS-422, DH+, DH485, etc.
  • CCNA and CCNA Security / CCNP / CCENT certification or experience with Cisco IOS CLI for configuring and managing Cisco devices.
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting managed Ethernet switches and routers.
  • Experience with OT Technologies (Levels 0-3 of CPwE architecture).

Nice-to-haves

  • Former Rockwell Automation experience.
  • Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
