About the position

The Network Support Specialist at Barry Communications, Inc. is responsible for troubleshooting and supporting network components, serving as a point of contact for customer inquiries, and coordinating with third-party carriers and vendors to resolve network issues. This role is part of a 24x7x365 support team and offers opportunities for learning and growth within a dynamic company that provides voice and data solutions to small and medium-sized businesses throughout New England.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and support network components.
  • Serve as a point of contact for customer trouble inquiries.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party carriers and vendors to resolve network trouble.
  • Maintain service order tickets and keep them up to date with accurate and detailed information.
  • Be part of a 24x7x365 support team with on-call duties.

Requirements

  • Understanding of basic networking and VoIP.
  • Understanding and expertise of VMware, voice and data networks (POE switches).
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong work ethic and commitment to going above and beyond for customers.
  • Able to work unsupervised, but also willing to seek direction, supervision, and training as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interface with a wide range of customers across many industries.
  • Team player willing to help out in all areas.
